Project overview

Royal is an animal feed supplier based in Coimbatore and a vendor of SKP Feeds. Its business runs on a pre-order model with scheduled deliveries, and it needed a custom mobile app to manage wholesale and bulk orders. RuteAppz developed the Vaikol app for Royal: a customer app, a driver app and an admin dashboard for central control, designed around customer order confirmation and delivery tracking.

Business challenges

Wholesale animal feed supply has a few requirements that ordinary retail ordering does not meet:

  • Bulk order management. Large quantities of feed have to be tracked precisely to avoid errors.
  • Scheduled deliveries. Delivery dates and times have to be planned and carried out efficiently.
  • Customer confirmation. Pre-orders need confirmation and admin approval before processing, to avoid delivery delays.
  • Proof of delivery. The business wanted a way to capture the customer's signature at delivery, so that deliveries are accountable.

The RuteAppz solution

RuteAppz built a tailored mobile app system around the way Royal works. Customers use one app to browse feed products, view bulk pricing and place pre-orders. Drivers use a second app that tells them what to deliver, where and when, and that captures a digital signature on delivery. The admin dashboard ties the two together: the team reviews and approves pre-orders, coordinates deliveries and keeps stock levels up to date.

How an order moves through the apps

The workflow below follows the project document: a customer pre-orders, the admin approves, the delivery is scheduled, the driver delivers and captures a signature, and customers and admins can follow the order afterwards.

Workflow diagram of the Vaikol apps: the customer places a pre-order, the admin reviews and approves it, the delivery is scheduled, the driver receives it and captures a digital signature on delivery, and customers and admins track orders and records.

Customer application

The customer app lets Royal's customers browse the animal feed products that are available, view bulk pricing and place pre-orders for later delivery. After ordering, customers can track their orders and see the delivery schedule, and the order history gives them quick access to past orders for reordering.

Pre-orders and scheduled deliveries

Royal works on a pre-order model, so every order passes through an approval step. A pre-order is confirmed and approved by an admin before it is processed, which avoids delivery delays caused by unconfirmed orders. Deliveries are then scheduled in advance, so dates and times are planned rather than arranged at the last minute. Bulk orders are handled through the same flow, with bulk pricing visible to customers. The source document does not describe online payment, checkout, delivery charges or rescheduling, so none of those are claimed.

Driver application

Drivers receive notifications about their scheduled deliveries, with the location and the products to deliver. Built-in navigation helps them follow their delivery routes; the source does not describe automated route planning. When a delivery is completed, the driver captures the customer's signature in the app, giving the business a digital proof of delivery.

Admin dashboard

The admin dashboard gives Royal central control. Admins review and approve pre-orders before processing, track delivery statuses and manage the driver schedule, and keep stock levels updated to avoid shortages. The source does not describe GPS or live map tracking, reporting, pricing management or payment records, so the page makes no claims about them.

Technology and scope

The project delivered three connected parts: a customer mobile app, a driver mobile app and an admin dashboard. The source material does not specify the development framework, programming language, database, hosting, or the mobile platforms and app stores in use, so none of these are listed.

Capabilities and intended business benefits

What the system was built to provide

  • Product browsing, bulk pricing and pre-orders in a customer app.
  • Order tracking, a delivery schedule and order history for customers.
  • Admin approval of pre-orders and delivery coordination.
  • A driver app with delivery notifications, navigation and digital signatures.
