Project overview

Coimbatore Mobile Bazaar is a mobile phone and accessories business in Coimbatore that sells and services mobile devices. Its owner wanted to grow beyond the physical shop and sell online, offering customers competitive prices and an easy shopping experience. RuteAppz developed the platform: Android and iOS shopping apps, a responsive web application and a CMS-based admin system for running the business behind them.

Business challenges

Taking a physical shop online raised five practical challenges:

  • Competitive pricing. The business wanted to offer attractive prices while keeping operations efficient.
  • Several platforms. Customers needed Android, iOS and web options to reach a wide range of shoppers.
  • Product management. Inventory for mobiles and accessories had to be simple to maintain.
  • Admin control. The team needed one admin system for orders, inventory updates and pricing changes.
  • Easy shopping. The experience had to be smooth and intuitive, even for customers new to online shopping.

The RuteAppz solution

RuteAppz designed one commerce platform with two sides. Customers shop in the Android app, the iOS app or the responsive web application. The business runs everything from a CMS admin system, where stock levels, orders, pricing and discounts are managed and where customer and sales information can be reviewed. Because customer channels and admin tools were built together, a price change, a discount or a stock update made in the admin is the same one customers see when they shop.

Android and iOS customer apps

The mobile apps are built for shoppers who may be new to online buying. Navigation is simplified so that customers can browse products, search, and buy without effort, and the apps offer several payment options. Push notifications alert customers to new offers, discounts and order updates. The source describes this feature set only; it does not describe loyalty points, referral rewards, trade-ins or EMI financing, and none are claimed, and it does not state where the apps are currently available for download.

Responsive web storefront

The web application serves customers on desktops, tablets and smartphones with a layout that adapts to each screen. Shoppers can use advanced search and filter products by price, brand and features, which makes it easier to compare phones and find the right accessories. The source does not describe marketplace, progressive web app or specific search-engine features for the storefront, so none are claimed.

Product and inventory management

Mobiles and accessories are managed from the CMS admin system. The admin tracks stock levels for each product; the project document describes this tracking as real-time. Keeping inventory in the same system as orders and pricing makes it simpler to see what is available and to update it. Warehouse automation, barcode or RFID scanning and multi-warehouse allocation are not described and not claimed.

Order management

The admin system handles the order lifecycle: incoming orders, returns and cancellations, all from one place. It also keeps customer information, including preferences and purchase history, so the team can see what a customer has bought. The source does not describe automated refunds or courier integrations, so none are claimed.

Flexible pricing and offers

A central goal was to let a local retailer compete with larger online marketplaces. The admin gives the owner direct control over product prices, so prices can be set and changed dynamically, and dynamic discounts let the business run periodic offers and promotional campaigns. This describes the pricing tools that were built. The case study does not claim that any product is cheaper than on another platform today.

Payment methods

The project document describes three ways for customers to pay: UPI, credit and debit cards, and cash on delivery. These are the payment options documented for the project. The source does not name the payment gateway providers or state which are enabled in production today, and it does not describe wallets, financing, payouts or subscription payments, so none are claimed.

Customer engagement

Push notifications carry new offers, discounts and order updates to customers' phones, and the admin's customer records and purchase history help the business understand what customers buy. Together with an easy-to-use interface, these tools support repeat engagement. No retention or loyalty figures have been supplied, so none are claimed.

CMS admin system

The admin system is the business's operations console, not just a content editor. It covers inventory management with stock-level tracking, order management including returns and cancellations, pricing controls and dynamic discounts, customer management with preferences and purchase history, and sales insights. Its purpose is to let a small team run an online store without manual record keeping.

Analytics and reporting

The platform includes sales insights that track revenue, top-selling products and customer trends, and performance metrics for app and website traffic. These help the owner decide what to stock, promote and price. The source does not name any analytics tool or dashboard technology, so none are listed.

Technology and scope

The project delivered an Android app, an iOS app, a responsive web application and a CMS admin system. The source material does not specify the programming languages, frameworks, database, hosting or payment gateway vendors, nor the current App Store or Google Play listing status, so none of these are listed.
